Oh the Irony!

As usually happens, things have started to fall into place.  Scott and I were thrilled to get our first choice of apartments!  And get this!  We will be living in an old school!!  Yup.  Fiona and Ethan will be homeschooled...in a school!!!  Lots of cool amenities come with the place...but what I am most excited about are the ten foot high windows.  So much natural light!!!  Another plus is that the entire building was redone in 2015, which means new appliances, no "double-hung" windows flicking lead paint everywhere, insulated in the winter, central air in the summer, and no funky old house issues to deal with.  And the BEST, BEST part... we can get a DOG!!! (Once we are all settled into our new digs.)  As a welcome break from the moving mindset we enjoyed beautiful weather in Plymouth for the 8th annual "Bounce House Day"!  This year we selected a large water slide!  I think it was the best year ever!  The day was warm and sunny and we were all able to just relish in the happiness of our kids, and toast to our health.

This is a view of the playground and dog park that goes with the school.

There are also garden plots available...

This is a wall of the master bedroom!

They turned the principals office into a guest suite that we can reserve for friends and family.

The kids created these dioramas using the miniature creatures from the "treasure" box at the dentist!

I'm sure you can guess whose is whose.

Ethan and I took Chester home again...he's so easy to love.

"After" (I'm re-doing all the dining room chairs.  From boring to "color-blast")

Warp Speed Ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here we are AGAIN!  I am aggressively browsing apartment listings in Portland, Maine...while stocking up on cardboard boxes.  The sickening sound of packing tape being plastered around all things "home".  BUT hopefully this time we will stick around a little longer than ten months!!  Yet let's also remember.  IT'S SUMMER!!!  And with that we must make the effort to see family, friends, the ocean and Fenway Park.  We're doing it.  At what sometimes feels like neck-breaking speed, but we're doing it.  Thankfully Scott is enjoying his job.  I love seeing him get ready with his hard-hat and safety glasses.  He could NEVER be a strictly indoor office guy.  The kids are gearing up for this next transition with very little confusion.  Seriously...if we weren't taking a huge leap annually I think then they would start to get concerned!
Last week I was lucky enough to be in a room with my four oldest friends...and their children!  This has not happened in over a decade.  Always there was a reason one of us couldn't make a gathering over the years.  So I knew the entire time to appreciate the moment...and I did!

Toward the end of our last stay in Portland Hallie came up for a visit with her daughter Viola (the best hugger).

Gammy also came up again on our last day to help us explore a place we will soon call home.

Henry...the cutie-patootie next door.

Ethan enjoyed a week of baseball camp...and earned "The Play of The Day" award.

I volunteered to have a dog for a day. (Fiona's bosses dog Chester)

My parents tooks the kids to see Cirque Du Soliel.  Here they are all dressed up!

My Dad was the king of the fourth!  BOOM!

Important fourth of July decisions... How big do you want your burger to be?

Ethan with Olive at Lil's mom's house on Plum Island.

Hallie with her "son-in-the-oven" the day before their big move to Italy.

Viola.  I'm going to miss this child.  Hope she still speaks english next time we meet!

Hallie and Lil.  Both about 6 months pregnant!

ALL FIVE OF US TOGETHER!!!

All four kids together!

Grabbing a bite at "Sweet Cheeks" before our Fenway tour.

A little bit of a line...but luckily the weather was a cool 75.

And we're in!

Did you know Fenway Park has a roof garden?!

Proud, proud papa.

Focus, Fiona.

The red seat marks where Ted Williams hit his one and only "In Park" home run.  No one has hit one farther yet!

The awesome view from the "Green Monster" seats.

Such fun playing around in the Press Room!
