It has been an eventful few months. Here's what we know... Fiona was excepted to the two colleges she applied to; MASS ART and UMASS Amherst. FABULOUS!!!!!!! What we don't know is which one she will attend. Still waiting on delayed financial package information due to FAFSA unrolling a new program and realizing they need more time. Like, a lot more time...so colleges need more time...so we are going crazy waiting. And waiting...
I had a lovely four week stint as the middle school librarian/art teacher. I decided it wasn't worth risking my mental and physical health to remain. Kids were seriously out of control bad. Racial slurs, stealing, belligerent, violent, threatening....not worth the headache. When I went to quit, the vice principal and principal begged me to stay and offered the solution that I remain as the second grade associate teacher. Great! The idea being that I fill the lead teacher role next year. Well, I got my offer letter and it has me as a fourth grade teacher. O.K. I can handle that...but not exactly what I wanted. So, rather than settle, I went to a job fair yesterday and met with a principal (whom I had been in contact with via email). She interviewed me on the spot and seems pretty confidant that she would like to hire me for a lead teacher second grade position at her school next year. So, here's what I know; Either way, I have a job next year...just don't know which one yet.
Meanwhile, Fiona has had a beautiful art show for A.P. art, Ethan has been diligently working on school work and will be inducted into "The National Honor Society" this week, Scott's job is still plugging away at a neck breaking pace and Theo screams for his nuts first thing every morning.
Easter was soothing and fun. There was lots of four square, trivia for money and delectable food. I also made a trip to Maine over April break. Fiona joined me and I dropped her off at an old friends house for the two nights that I stayed with Morton. Morton turned 95 on the solar eclipse. Man, even his birthday is cool...I managed to steal away for a few hours on one of the days to hit up my favorite Freeport and Portland thrift shops and also pay a visit to my 94 year old friend Betty. She is living her best life in the nursing home. She has waited her whole life to be there. Thinks getting your meals in bed is the ultimate in pampering!
No idea what will be in the next blog. Life can change so quickly. Especially when you are open to it.

Morton on his weekly aloe watering rounds. He gave me the smaller pot in the foreground. |

These all came from his mother Frannie. I have never seen an aloe blossom until now. He told me it only takes about 40 years! |
